Main Description of Responsibilities
To manage the assigned portfolio covering both major and Volume business; be responsible for reviewing individual applications to evaluate degree of risk involved and determine acceptance of applications, with an aim to achieving production targets profitability.
Main duties include:
Strategic Planning
Ability to plan and develop sales initiatives to acquire new clients and retain & grow existing clients within department and cross-department.
Contributing input and analysis to assist the development of Strategic Plans.
Implementing the Action Plans as required.
Marketing & Sales
Selling or influencing others – convincing brokers / agents / client (if Direct basis) to place insurance with AIG whenever possible
Maintaining solid producer relationships to enhance retention ratio and generate more new business.
Marketing activities – engaging and organizing all kinds of marketing activities in a consistent and on-going basis that benefit the business including both casual relationship building / networking events such as luncheon, drinks, meetings or business entertainment function as well as formal projects such as writing Company’s newsletter and submitting e-mail PLI series
Maintaining contact with peers within the industry and being updated of insurance market intelligence.
Training and provide consultation – work closely with various teams of your distribution sources, maintaining presence through formal presentation or in-depth technical training meetings to market AIG’s products liability business and enhance reputation of underwriting professionalism
Underwriting
Handling of both renewal policies and new submissions as in accordance to Casualty servicing standards.
Selecting appropriate and competitive premiums for the risk based on information and judgment
Write to referral desk for risk outside manager’s assigned authority
Keeping a good underwriting file records of policy underwritten and decision made as according to audit guidelines
Continuous strive of process efficiency.
Job Requirements:
University / College graduate, CII and/or ANZIIF preferred
Knowledge of Casualty products or General Insurance industry is a plus
Insurance market presence with Brokers or Agents is a plus
Excellent communicator and ability to deliver presentations and product trainings
Demonstrated high-level of customer service.
Good interpersonal skills and collaborative, a team player
Good analytical and decision-making mind, knowledge of statistics or data management/interpretation (proficiency in MS Office, PowerBI) is a plus
Over 5 years of relevant or commercial experience; having an equivalent combination of education or related experience.
