  The Assistant Director of Recreational Sports for Operations

  Job Description:

  Program Management – Oversee the administration and daily operations of the Operations unit. Evaluate equipment needs, develop equipment replacement plans; and create and conduct program assessments.

  Personnel Management – Recruit, train, supervise, coach, mentor and evaluate teams exempt, student and other part-time staff within the Operations unit. Plan and facilitate regular staff meetings and training sessions for each assigned area including awareness and compliance with all University policies and procedures. Assist with the development of program training manuals and materials including safety and risk management practices to meet national standards and University policy.

  Financial, Administrative, & Other Duties as Assigned – Develops and implements a comprehensive budget for the Operations unit; assess and analyze data associated with services; coordinate and implement marketing plans for the programs. Operates state vehicles in the performance of job duties. Provides feedback to supervisor regarding the safety and/or condition of programs, equipment and facilities; conducts daily observations and/or use said equipment and facilities; immediately documents and addresses all safety concerns.

  Expected Salary:

  $50,000 - $60,000

  Minimum Requirements:

  Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and four years of experience.

  Valid driver's license required.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Master’s Degree

  Two years of experience leading operations in a campus recreation setting

  Ability to work with minimal supervision, to think laterally, and to undertake initiatives

  Ability to effectively supervise

  Self-motivated, adaptable, a great team player and customer-focused
