Overseeing the onboarding process by training them or assigning them toa trainer.
Managing clinical operations and developing care plans.
Preparing the daily schedule and planning shifts.
Ensuring nursing staff follows departmental procedures and policies.
Assisting in budget preparation and expense management.
Conducting patient rounds and addressing complaints.
Evaluating the performance of the department and recommendingimprovements.
Scheduling staff meetings for patient updates, issues, andrecommendations.
Ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local standards.
Keeping patient and employee records updated and accurate.
Coaching nurses to improve performance and handling discipline issues;
Monitoring expenses to ensure that the facility operates withinbudgetary constraints;
Checking patient records to ensure that they are accurate and up todate.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Ability:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact positivelywith staff, patients and patients families;
Extensive knowledge of nursing best practices and federal, state andlocal healthcare laws;
Strong written communication skills to compile reports and writeevaluations;
Analytical skills to interpret diagnostic information and financialdata;
Coaching skills to help nurses continue to improve their performance;
Time management and multitasking skills to complete many tasksthroughout the day;
Problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles in delivering patient careand maintaining staff coverage
Ability to use electronic health records, word processing, spreadsheetand email software.
