Robert Half is searching for an Assistant Controller who wants to join an ambitious, growing team. The Assistant Controller role will be a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Key responsibilities
On a monthly basis, handle financial executive package and control book, ensuring it includes budget to actual comparisons by department
Play an active role in the development of the accounting team by assisting in staffing, performance management, and training
Prepare external monthly and quarterly reporting packages and supply to Board meeting decks
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to participating in special projects, system improvements or ad hoc analyses/projects as assigned
Handle treasure function to ensure cash forecasts are accurate and vendors are paid in a timely manner
Manage policies for reporting and accounting
Provide technical accounting GAAP mentorship, external reporting and support to the Company
Ensure account reconciliations/analyses for balance sheet and income statement accounts are properly prepared and maintained
Take on coordination and leadership over external financial audits
Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close including financial statements Requirements - Relevant industry experience (preferred)
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
Ability to anticipate needs and pre-plan work
Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Bachelor degree in Accounting
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Ability to meet deadlines
Solid understanding of NetSuite
Proficiency in month end closings
Expertise in Microsoft Excel
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Previous industry experience
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
