The Job:
The State of Maine Judicial Branch is seeking a detail-oriented teamplayer with strong customer service skills to join our team as anAssistant Clerk. This position involves clerical work in a Clerks Officeand courtroom, where civil, family, and criminal cases are processed.This requires extensive contact with the public and attorneys, utilizingexcellent customer service skills and managing various computer systemsand office equipment while enjoying a full-time work schedule that fitsyour life needs.

Salary Range:
Grade 9, $19.98 to $25.99 per hour. Starting pay is $19.98 - $21.00per hour.
A 3% cost of living increase is scheduled for July 2024.

Docket, process, and file matters before the CourtCommunicate effectively with the public, judges, attorneys, andother agenciesSchedule pre-trial activities, trials, motions, and otherproceedingsHandle and process fines, fees, and costs paid to or through theCourtServe as courtroom clerk and perform duties as required by the judgePrepare abstracts and reports for various agenciesOperate electronic recording machines and maintain appropriate logsParticipate in jury management activitiesPerform other varied duties as requested by the ClerkWere Looking For:
High school diploma or GEDTwo years of experience providing customer service and/or clericalwork/office administration.
