Cases require coordination with state, local, and federal authorities and involve matters of public interest and social justice, as well as challenging and complex enforcement initiatives. Primary Duties: The Assistant Attorney General (AAG) will be responsible for handling investigations into alleged violations of the Massachusetts False Claims Act, including reviewing referrals/complaints; initiating and conducting complex investigations, including negotiating with opposing counsel, conducting witness interviews, taking depositions, and reviewing written discovery; participating in settlement negotiations; and making recommendations on how to proceed. The AAG will also be responsible for assessing, investigating, and litigating sealed whistleblower, or/qui tam/, actions, some of which are filed on behalf of multiple government entities, and all of which require collaboration with the whistleblower and their attorney.
