ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM: Univision San Antonio is currently accepting resumes for an Assignments Desk Editor/Producer within News based in location. This role position is responsible for managing story assignments, coordinating coverage and logistics, responding to breaking news. Candidates should be creative thinkers able to conceptualize interactive projects for broadcast and online components for our news digital platforms.

　　ABOUT YOU:

　　You possess the ability to problem solve, trouble shoot, and adapt during breaking news. You are well versed in editorial judgement and time management. You are an effective communicator and are knowledge of currents events in your community. Proficient in I-News, Microsoft Office, and other news gathering tools. You are able to work under pressure and manage breaking news. You are flexible work weekends, holidays and overnights if needed.

　　YOUR DAY-DAY:

　　• Works alongside the producer to generate research, verify, plan, and develop story ideas and drive breaking news.

　　• Route information to the entire news team to ensure accurate reporting.

　　• Assign reporters, and photographers to news stories and special projects.

　　• Manages editorial meetings to ensure daily, weekly, and future story coverage. • Acts as a liaison with other news organizations, community contacts, and UTG assignment desks.

　　• Monitor news wires, social media, and scanners to mobilize breaking news.

　　YOU HAVE:

　　• 2-year experience as an Assignment Desk Editor minimum

　　• Bachelor’s Degree, in Journalism, Communications/New Media, Film, Radio and Television.

　　• Ability to manage teams.

　　• Detail oriented, organized, disciplined, can manage multiple tasks/responsibilities in working with tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.

　　• Creative, engaged, and assertive

　　• Understand trends, and metrics across all platforms.
