JOB SUMMARY: Toshiba America Energy Systems Corporation isa service industry provider primarily focused on the utility andindustrial power generation markets. This 1stshift position of AssemblyTechnician is responsible for assisting in performing work on mechanicalor electrical apparatus associated with large generation equipment. Theduties of an Assembly Technician I will include, but is not limited tothe disassembling, cleaning, refurbishment, manufacturing, winding andreassembly of stationary and rotating power generation equipment. Thework of an Assembly Technician I will occur under the direct supervisionand/or combination with experienced technicians working from engineeringdrawings, specifications and procedures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Learn,retain, and demonstrate adherence to company safety practices andpolicies. Report to the assigned working shift and adhere to all breakschedules. Conduct oneself in a respectful manner at all times. Performall shop related tasks, in any assigned department under directoversight and assist in whatever capacity that is required to completejobs within a prescribed time. Perform all assigned basic disassemblyand assembly-related operations using measuring equipment, hand toolsand/or power tools. Complete all assigned tasks, following verbal andwritten direction, company processes and procedures, without deviation.Assist with the safe operation of jib cranes and overhead bridge cranes.Learn, retain and demonstrate safe operation of sit-down and stand-upforklift with lifting capacities up to 10,000 pounds. Learn, retain anddemonstrate safe operation of blast booths. TRAVEL: Travel is possible,to support field service activities, but is not required. SKILLS ANDEXPERIENCE: 0 to 2 years of experience, within a service shopatmosphere. Mechanical aptitude to demonstrate the ability to performbasic disassembly and assembly. Ability to use various hand tools andoperate power tools (i.e. drills, grinders). Ability to performmathematical calculations (add/subtract/multiply/divide, fractions,convert decimal to fractions and vice versa). Ability to read andunderstand blueprints. Ability to use and interpret basic measuringtools such as scales and tape measures. Determine sequence ofoperation. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures and cutting tools.Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such asspeed, feed, flow, and depth/angle of cut. Set up and operate machine ontrial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed controldata. May enter commands to retrieve, input or edit programs. Start,observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-balancemachining and adjust machine as required. May confer with engineers,product personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.Perform inspections at the machine to verify part is to specifications.Perform daily and weekly maintenance on machines as outlined inpreventative maintenance procedures. Maintain clean and orderlyworkstations by their assigned machines. Support supervisor and inprocess development and tooling development. Be an active team member in5-S initiatives. Train and assist other operators in variety of machinetools. Willingness to support other departments to meet customerschedules and demands, this includes but not limited to performingassembly work, running manual machines like Bridgeport mills andgrinders. Operate cranes and fork trucks.
