Job Designation
Reporting to the Assembly Production Supervisor of MABS-Kentucky-Distribution Center, this position is responsible for day to day assembly of component pieces into aircraft wheels and brakes. With appropriate training the individual will be required to perform functional testing of finished assemblies and prepare product for shipping to customers.
This individual will also be responsible for participation in continuous improvement activities on a daily basis and on project teams.
Job Core Responsibilities
Responsible for inspecting, cleaning and assembling aerospace components into final assemblies and performing required testing necessary for final product acceptance.
Read blueprints, specifications, and work instructions and perform mechanical assembly processes.
Will obtain the proper work instructions for assigned jobs and will interact with production Planning personnel as required.
Responsible for filling out documentation necessary to satisfy all MABS Kentucky government and customer requirements. Will inspect product and complete documentation as necessary whether manual or through the use of computer transactions.
Operate hydraulic test equipment after appropriate training.
Use power hand tools and will operate auxiliary machine tools as required.
Responsible for working in a safe manner and observing all company procedures regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.
Individual will do some frequent heavy lifting and will be required to walk throughout the work day.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications
Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations is preferred.
Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience: 2-4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment is required. The individual must be able to read and interpret blueprints and must possess the necessary mathematic skills associated with discreet part manufacturing. They must be able to read product specifications and follow written work instructions.
Skills:
Skilled at routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations
Able to operate a variety of hand tools and machinery
Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures
Good manual dexterity required to work with small parts
Capable of recognizing and solving typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluates and selects solutions from established options
Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills
