  Internal Job Title: Assembly I - Door PackoutExternal Job Title: Door PackerGrade: Level 1Reports To:  Production SupervisorFLSA Classification: Non-ExemptLocation: Walker, MichiganGeneral Description:The Assembly I - Door Packout position is part of the production crew that assembles interior and exterior doors for commercial use. Individuals in this assembly position work as part of a team to ensure all sales orders are assembled and packed per schedule.Essential Duties:Reads and verifies paperwork, work orders, or work instructions for product accuracyVerifies quality of material and finished productEnters production data into computer to update status of work orderEnsures hardware is complete and functional before packaging is completeFollows documented procedures as well as producing and ensuring product meets or exceeds established product specifications.Interacts with fellow assembly members to ensure quantity requirements are metPerforms housekeeping and preventative maintenance responsibilities as needed.Uses care and respect to ensure equipment and/or property is not damagedIndividuals in this position are cross-trained and expected to perform in a variety of Assembly I roles.Position Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent, requiredMinimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, requiredPrevious assembly experience, preferredFamiliarity with custom parts/hardware ("CP") and its typical applications, preferredAbility to read and interpret work instructions and work orders in English, requiredAble to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and templates, requiredAble to make perform basic math computations, requiredAble to read a tape measure and measure product to 1/32Able to perform basic computer functions related to data entry, output and storage, requiredCompetencies:Attendance & Dependability - Individual can be depended on to report to work on time and as scheduled, work overtime as necessary and be seldom absent from work.Decision Making - Recognizes issues, problems or opportunities and determines whether action is needed.
