Come work for Eastern Iowa's premier paving contractor! We're hiring seasonal asphalt laborers and offering year-round benefits. Our laborers perform a wide variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.

Work Environment:

Laborer are exposed to all types of outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, dust, and fumes. Laborers work alongside open lanes of traffic traveling at speeds up to seventy miles per hour.

Schedule:

There is no set schedule - laborers may work on days (Monday to Friday) or overnight (Sunday night to Friday morning), based on the project. It's common for laborers to work more than 10 hours a day and earn overtime each week.

Duties:

Shovel and rake asphalt

Load and unload trucks, haul and hoist materials, transport rakes, lutes, shovels, and spray cans to the job site

Operate a variety of hand and power tools

Measure, line out and stake the area for the day's paving

Control traffic on job sites by flagging to guide traffic through work areas

Maintain a clean job site - pick up all tools and equipment each day

Required:

Regular dependable attendance

Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record

Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Able to stand, crouch, and walk for long periods of time (10+ hours)

Have use of both hands to operate construction tools, lift, hoist, carry, direct traffic, grasp, and finger

Able to climb in and out of pickup trucks, stoop, kneel, and crouch

Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Available to work days and nights including overtime
