Overview
ASP Truck Driver (USATC-2024-20025):
Bowhead is seeking a full-time Heavy Truck Driver to transport different items which are key to for the correct functioning of the newly created ASP Division through specified routes to local or distant points to support the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) at Fort Jackson, SC. This position requires a valid CDL with Hazmat Endorsement.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
Transporting, loading, unloading, stacking and staging ammunition, including pyrotechnics and ammunition residue by hand, forklift or other material handling equipment.
Reviewing paperwork, conducting inventory, and ensuring accuracy of load while also ensuring loads are properly secured and the truck is properly placarded.
Will conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure it is safe to transport ammunition.
May be called upon to make minor mechanical, operator-level repairs to keep truck in good working order and reports deficiencies for straight trucks, or tractor over 4 tons, that are usually 10 wheels.
Performing maintenance, upkeep of the physical work building, and other tasks assigned by Supervisor.
Responsible for keeping vehicles clean, inside and outside, at all times.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum
Valid Commercial Driver’s License w/ Hazmat Endorsement is required in addition to a valid CDL Operator Medical Card
Must have at least four (4+) years' of truck driving experience
Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening
Ability to complete Ammunition Courses: AMMO 45, 67, 68, and 108; possessing these certifications is desired
Additionally, knowledge in U.S. Army maintenance procedures, U.S. Army 88M series MOS qualification or civilian equivalent is highly desired
At least two (2+) years of forklift experinece is helpful
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, climbing, bending, squatting, and reaching.
Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, inclement weather conditions, and areas with chemical or biological agents.
Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must wear steel toe/safety shoes at all times.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust Level (NACI). Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
