  Art Handling Specialist II - NASM, Crozier

  Crozier Fine Arts

  The role of Art Handling Specialist in this long term project with Smithsonian Institutions is multif aceted. In this role you will work with at team of specialist in the assembly and installation of various air and space artifacts . This role requires you to work with Art Handlers, Aircraft Specialists, and museum representatives in a constantly changing environment.

  Pay: $25.00-$30.00/hr

  Schedule: 40 hours per week

  Location: Lanham, MD

  Responsibilities:

  Handle, move, wrap, pack, and crate art objects, decorative arts, and/or furniture

  Install/uninstall art for onsite projects

  Load/unload trucks to ensure safe transit

  Plan, organize, and pack trucks to ensure utmost safety of objects during transit

  Museum Standard Artifact/Art Handling

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s Degree, required

  2 to 3 years of artifact and art handling experience

  Minimum 2 years previous experience in museum or commercial fine art setting

  Understanding of industry standards for art handling and condition reporting including proper terminology for description

  Attention to detail

  Willing to work in a constantly changing environment and as part of a team

  Physical ability to help move large artifacts - 50 to 75 lbs.

  Experience packing, installing, deinstalling, crating, and unpacking artifacts . Familiar with oversized artifact and installs

  Operational Equipment Experience Preferred - Scissor Lift, Forklift, and Boom Lift

  Reasonably expected salary range: $48,200.00 - $60,300.00
