Summary About the Position: Serve as a Project Officer assigned to the U.S. Army Armor School (USAARMS) Headquarters. Responsible for the performance of special and rapid response projects pertaining to a variety of subjects germane to the Armor Branch and Armor School. Acts on special projects that frequently involve Armor doctrine, organizations, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF) matters. Responsibilities Serve as a Project Officer assigned to the U.S. Army Armor School (USAARMS) Headquarters. Conduct research and analysis and applies investigative techniques to ensure the most current and accurate data is utilized in the final product. Design and conduct comprehensive studies and analyses applying qualitative and quantitative techniques. Develop implementation strategies as well as methods for measuring long-range program effectiveness. Compile current data and writes summary and historical reports for the Chief of Armor. Prepare comprehensive reports reflecting project status in support of the Armor School at regular Reviews/Briefings. Prepare and present briefings to provide status updates for Armor School manning and resourcing and presents findings and recommendations as well as report potential problem areas. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in Armor/Cavalry organizations such as developing detailed plans, goals and objectives for the long-range implementation of the Armor project/program and developing methods for the evaluation of the program effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
