Aquatic Center Cashier
The City of Idaho Falls is accepting applications for Aquatic CenterCashier. This position performs cashiering and a variety
of tasks as they relate to providing services to the patrons of the WesDeist Aquatic Center. Works under the general
supervision of the Aquatic Center Supervisors and Manager.
Essential Functions
Greets and interacts with the public in a friendly manner at all timesand responds to questions regarding scheduling and
use of the swimming pool.
Collects fees for swimming admissions and swimming lessons.
Handles and counts money, balances daily till, and maintains accurateaccounting records.
Answers telephone calls and responds to public inquiries.
Performs general office tasks such as filing, record keeping andhousekeeping as required.
Monitors and helps prevent incidents and accidents throughout thefacility by actively enforcing City policies, rules and
procedures that conform to the City\'s patron discipline policy.
Responds to emergencies as outlined in Aquatic Center\'s EmergencyAction Plan and completes incident/accident reports
as required.
Performs light cleaning/maintenance as required to include but notlimited to; garbage pick-up, vacuuming, mopping,
replacement of paper products in the restrooms, cleaning glass, wipingoff counters, cleaning restrooms, etc.
Participates in the care and maintenance of the vending inventory
Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or GED AND sufficient education and trainingto demonstrate an ability or aptitude to
perform the above and related duties.

2. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of principles and practices of community recreationprogramming and development; some knowledge
of principles of supervision; some knowledge of interpersonalcommunication skills and public relations; some knowledge
of fiscal management.
Some knowledge of cashiering and record keeping.
Ability to generate genuine rapport with all age groups; ability tocommunicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in
writing; ability to develop effective working relationships withsupervisors, state and local agency personnel, fellow workers,
community interest groups and the public.
Must be able to use a computer and be comfortable using programs such asExcel, Outlook, Word and Publisher.
3. Special Qualifications:
May work a varied schedule that includes days, holidays, nights, andweekends.
Must have a valid driver\'s license.
Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid/Oxygen Administration Certificationwithin 30 days.
Work Environment
Tasks require a variety of physical activities generally involvingmuscular strain. Physical demands may occur in activities
related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, running,jumping, etc. Talking, hearing and seeing required in the
daily performance of job duties. There may be occasional exposure toenvironmental hazards resulting from working in a
recreational environment. Mental application utilizes memory fordetails, emotional stability and discriminating thinking and
creative problem solving.
