　　Position Summary

　　Positions in this job family provide direction and support for scientific and research activities. Responsibilities of jobs in this family include supporting or conducting scientific research and the collection, analysis, and reporting of data. Typical functions include grants administration, theoretical and applied research, human subject compliance, laboratory support services, animal care, etc.

　　DUTIES :

　　Conserves and cares for animal species to ensure adequate preparation for laboratory experiments, including feeding, changing cages and racks and watering animals daily.

　　Performs animal husbandry duties.

　　Maintains room by monitoring environmental conditions ( temperature, humidity, and air exchanges).

　　Maintain accurate records daily of animal population and other various forms of documentation.

　　Autoclaves biohazard material, equipment and all bedding to endure freedom from germs.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　High School Diploma or equivalent required.

　　2 years of related experience in a laboratory animal facility. Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License and an insurable driving record.

　　Laboratory Animal Technician ( LAT ) certification by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science ( AALAS ) required.
