  As the AI Governance Lead at Motorola Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing responsible AI practices across our organization. You will work at the intersection of technology, ethics, and compliance to ensure that our AI systems are developed and utilized in a manner that aligns with our values, improves the customer experience, and meets evolving regulatory standards.

  The AI Governance Lead will be a critical member of Motorola Solutions legal team, reporting into Legal Director, Analytics & AI, and will work closely with the AI & Intelligence Platform team, the Motorola Technology Advisory Committee, as well as other functions across Motorola Solutions. Motorola Solutions' portfolio includes a variety of command center software, video security, access control and other security products through a number of leading brands including Motorola Solutions, Avigilon, Pelco, Vigilant, Watchguard and OpenPath - AI powers an important and expanding portion of Motorola's analytics platform.

  You will build and manage the framework, policies and practices to ensure responsible and ethical development, deployment, and use of AI technologies both within Motorola's internal business and development processes and within Motorola's products, including; (1) establishing ethical guidelines, (2) promoting transparency in AI algorithms and decision-making process, (3) mechanisms for addressing harm or unintended consequences caused by AI, (4) mitigating biases in AI algorithms, (5) guidance on use of datasets for AI training, and (6) development of templates, examples, guides, checklists, training, and other materials aimed at supporting compliance. You will also be a leading voice internally and externally on matters of AI policy and governance.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Policy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain AI governance policies, guidelines, and best practices that promote ethical AI development and deployment.Ethical Frameworks: Develop and implement ethical frameworks and risk assessment methodologies for AI projects, taking into account potential biases, fairness, and transparency.Compliance Assurance: Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant AI regulations, standards, and legal requirements, staying up-to-date with evolving laws and industry trends.Ethical AI Education: Create and deliver training programs to educate employees and stakeholders on ethical AI principles and responsible AI practices.AI Auditing: Conduct audits and assessments of AI systems to identify potential ethical and compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions.Governance: Serve as chief of staff to the Motorola Technology Advisory Committee and steer any other internal governance organizations on AI matters.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with external organizations, community advisory boards, industry partners, and regulators to advocate for responsible AI practices and standards.

  Highly Preferred Qualifications:

  Strong understanding of AI technologies and their ethical implications.Familiarity with software development processes and best practices including agile work development.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including cross-functional experienceExcellent problem-solving skills, sound judgment and decision-making skills within the context of a fast-paced and high stakes businessAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  Additional background that may be positively considered:

  Working knowledge of global data and privacy laws and standards, including but not limited to CCPA, GDPR, HIPAAAdvanced degree (e.g. MS, or JD) in a relevant subject area.Professional certifications in AI ethics or governance.Experience in policy advocacy and engagement with external stakeholders.Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and their potential ethical challenges.

  NOTE: Preferred candidate will reside in the Chicagoland area with access to the Chicago office as needed, however candidate may reside anywhere in the US.
