Operate differentseries of New Holland tractors. Use hand tools such as shovels andscrapers. Cover silage and haylege piles with plastic and tires. Tractorand equipment maintenance, greasing implements and other smallequipment. Driving and hauling alfalfa wagons pulled by tractors. Tillsoil and apply manure to fields. Repair fences and farm buildings.Harrow and fertilize soil. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implementsand mechanical equipment.
Install/ maintain irrigation systems and water lines.
Apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and other crop protectants.Apply fertilizers, plant growth chemicals, conditioners, and other plantrelated treatments at the correct times depending on plant type, growth,and climate and crop conditions. We will teach this person how to sprayfields using our Apache 1200 series sprayer. They will also learn whatchemicals and how to mix them in the Apache sprayer.
Harvest time the worker may be operating a combine, driving the augercart, hauling grain with a truck, unloading grain into a bin.
As minor duties, workers may feed cows, water cows, remove manure frompens, and apply new bedding for the cows to lie on. Most of this work isdone with the use of a Gehl skid steer.
Workers must operate all equipment properly and in a manner thatprotects operator, others, the employer\'s products and property.Failure to comply with safety requirements and operating instructionsmay result in disciplinary action up to and including immediatetermination.
Use hand tools including but not limited to hammer, pliers, screwdriver,electric drill and wrenches. A good overall knowledge to how to be ableto troubleshoot and fix some small tractor issues. Lift, carry, andload/unload products or supplies. Repair Fences.
Must wear assigned personal protective equipment when required. Mustreport for work daily wearing work clothing and boots or other durablefoot wear. Workers wearing clothing inappropriate for work will not bepermitted to start work.
Outdoor work required when plants are wet, or during light rain, snow,moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures.Temperatures in fields during working hours may vary. Workers may berequired to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stopfield operations. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honey bees,insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect aworker\'s ability to perform the job. Work is done outdoors for longperiods of time and requires prolonged periods of standing and/orwalking, repetitive movements, and frequent bending and/or stooping.Workers must be able to handle, lift, and carry heavy or bulky objects(product, containers) up to 60lbs.
Supervisor(s) will provide instructions and directions to workers.Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions andcommunicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual, complex or non-routineactivities will be supervised. Workers expected to perform basic dutiesin a proficient manner without close supervision.
Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than thestated daily hours and/or on a worker\'s Sabbath or federal holidays.Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. Worker must report to work atdesignated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule mayvary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and otherfactors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time.
TERMINATION. Prior to any termination for cause, employer evaluatesworkers\' performance of required tasks and compliance with Work Rulesand other employer policies.
