  This position is eligible for an up to $2000 sign-on bonus!

  The 21st Century After School Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Wediko NY's After School programing at PS 155 (Manhattan). The 21st Century After School Coordinator is on-site at the school 5 days a week. In partnership with the school and Community Based Organization (CBO) staff, the Coordinator will focus on facilitating and coordinating after school programs including activities, academic enrichment, trips, and parent literacy workshops.

  The 21st Century After School Coordinator is also responsible for maintaining adequate program documentation, collaborating with CBO partners around the after school program schedule, and serves as a liaison with the school, families, and partnering agencies on behalf of the initiative at the school level. The 21st Century after School Coordinator position will be full-time (40 hours/week) and will be co-supervised by The 21 st Century Program Manager and Site Manager. The salary range for the position is $45,000 to $50,000.

  How You'll Be Making a Difference

  Overall responsibility for effective service delivery, and all administrative tasks including reporting in a timely manner to your manager, NYSED, DOH, OCFS and The Home.

  Serve as part of the on-site Leadership Team.

  Support the Site Manager maintain full compliance with DOH's and OCFS's operational, and facilities requirements.

  Support the Site Manager in the recruitment, hiring, training and evaluation of staff in compliance with The Home, DOE & DOH regulations.

  Recruit and enroll at least 20% above your mandated enrollment number of students at your site

  Ensure a minimum of 105 students achieve 15 hours of service at your site for the fiscal year

  Ensure daily attendance is being appropriately inputted and tracked on EZReports.

  Connect and engage students and their families with program services.

  Ensure program complies with NYSED requirements including:

  Structured activities including enrichment, academic support, leadership development, college readiness and physical activity/healthy living content. These activities must be relevant to participants' interests and lives and reflect students' voice and choice. All activities are to strengthen student engagement via project-based learning.

  Offer a minimum of two hours per week of literacy or STEM and Leadership Development.

  Professional Development Workshops for program staff

  Literacy workshops for parents

  Host end of cycle/cohort showcases to engage the school community and families in students' demonstrated learning.

  Comply with SACC Regulations for staff and program participants

  Pivot between virtual and in-person program as needed based on health considerations and guidance from governmental authorities.

  In partnership with the Site Manager, work with the Program Impact & Evaluation team to conduct surveys of program stakeholders and provide requested data in a timely manner

  Oversee on site marketing efforts for program recruitment & enrollment purposes

  Provide 21 st Century Program Manager and other Home staff with relevant information in a timely manner when requested.

  In partnership with the Site Manager, work with key stakeholders in the community to learn and understand the history of partnerships and the unmet needs

  Support student exposure to further educational opportunities (middle school, high school and college); build college and career readiness skills

  In partnership with the Site Manager, facilitate staff meetings and staff development opportunities

  Work schedule either 10 am - 6 pm or 1:00pm – 9:00pm depending upon site needs to be determined by Site Manager and 21 st Century Program Manager

  Provides crisis counseling, conflict mediation and social-emotional support

  Qualifications

  Bachelor’s Degree

  Bilingual Spanish

  Approved by DOH (or have all required credentials) to serve as a SACC Site Supervisor.

  3 years’ experience providing services to Elementary or Middle School-aged youth

  3 years’ experience collaborating with school personnel

  Significant experience with assets and needs analysis

  Community organizing, problem-solving, networking and developing relationships with private and public partners

  Program coordination, and improving access to resources for students, parents, school staff and community members.

  Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  Ability to approach challenges in a supportive and creative manner

  Excellent organizational skills & deep understanding of modern technology and how to use it in the workplace to create efficiency

  Flexible schedule and willingness to work school hours as well as weekends/evenings

  Ability to lift 30lbs and actively walk throughout the site campus consistently during program hours
