Specifically, the Machine/Laser Operator I is responsible for operating industrial equipment and machinery such as a laser machine, press brake, structural steel rolling machine, CNC milling machine etc. in accordance with company procedures. Operator will place production part into machine, cycle the equipment and retrieve the part. Employee is responsible for visually inspecting parts.Other Responsibilities:Setting up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working orderMaintaining and cleaning machines before and after each shiftMonitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum runningTroubleshoot problems during machine operationEnsure stocks/inventory of needed materials and tools are ready and available at all timesProvide relevant information regarding progress to supervisorsFollows all plant safety guidelines, practices and procedures. Also, be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work areaProperly use personal protective equipment when requiredNotify supervisors/leads of problems that may occur with equipment or part qualityOther activities may include but are not limited to: cutting, sawing, drilling, tapping, grinding, prepping kits and lay-outs to meet customer specificationsMaintain regular attendance - have reliable means of transportationPerform other tasks as assignedQualificationsPrior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable.Must have intermediate blueprint reading knowledge and the ability to follow the work order instructionsForklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)Must be able to pass a background check and pre employment drug testTeam player - must be able to work with others assigned to machineMust have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet
