About Aerial Design Technician II

  Overview and Essential Functions

  A successful Aerial Design Technician II shall be able to design pole attachments for telecommunications facilities, complete and track pole applications, create design maps, build and complete models for pole loading analysis, and review revisions and as-builts. At a minimum, the Aerial Design Technician II position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications network structure, NESC as it applies to pole attachments, and the ability to use a computer and other office related equipment; familiarity with telecommunications design software; ability to read, understand, interpret, and analyze data.

  In order to perform this job, you must demonstrate, either by training or experience: • the ability to work safely, with or without supervision; • the ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness; • the ability to organize work load to determine priority of duties; • detail oriented, well organized, and effective in multi-tasking; • excellent manual dexterity; • excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, exceptional critical thinking ability; • the ability to read and understand highway/road prints and identify conflicts with outside plant facilities; • the ability to perform independently with minimal supervision, exercising latitude to achieve daily objectives; • the ability to work seated at a table for extended periods; Responsibilities: • Completion of engineering tasks in support of an assigned department/project. • Communicate with employees, contractors, vendors, and/or customers to assist assigned department/project. • Completion of daily production reports to document work performed. • Receive, organize, file, and maintain documents and/or data as well as read, interpret, input, and analyze data.

  Qualifications

  Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 2 years of related work experience. • Experienced in the use of hardware and software (PCs, Tablets, IKE, ArcMap, Ocalc Pro, CAD, ArcGIS, Google, etc.) • Experienced in assigned function (Drafting, Designing, Make Ready, Geographic Information Systems, etc.) • Authorized to work in the United States. • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.
