About Advanced Systems Engineer

As a System Safety Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our products and systems. You will be responsible for performing safety analysis, conducting software system safety assessments, and leading failure review boards. Your expertise in system safety engineering will contribute to the development of robust safety strategies and the implementation of effective safety measures.

You will report directly to our Safety Engineering Manager and work out of our Minnesota location on a hybrid work schedule.

Your work will help to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring that our products meet the highest safety standards and comply with relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities

Perform system safety analysis to identify potential hazards and assess risks.

Conduct software system safety assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Lead failure review boards to investigate and analyze safety-related incidents and failures.

Develop and implement safety strategies and plans to mitigate risks and improve product safety.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety requirements into product design and development processes.

Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams on safety-related matters.

articipate in safety audits and reviews to ensure adherence to safety standards and best practices.

Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in system safety engineering.

The application period for the job is estimated to be 40 days from the job posting date; however, this may be shortened or extended depending on business needs and the availability of qualified candidates.

The annual base salary range for this position is $104,000 -$130,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

6+ years of experience in systems engineering and project guidance

Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations

Experience in conducting software system safety assessments

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
