Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Advanced Practice Nursing for the Francois-Xavier Bagnoud Center (FXB Center) at the Rutgers School of Nursing. The Advanced Practice Nurse will ensure that the total health needs of patients are met. This includes people living with HIV across the life span. The Advanced Practice Nurse will utilize family-centered care model to meet a variety of healthcare needs with HIV primary care as the main focus and work with a variety of healthcare professionals including health care case managers, nutritionist, social worker, and outreach workers.Among the duties Include:
  • Performs comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments. Develops and implements plan for care in patients across the lifespan in collaboration with interdisciplinary team. Performs episodic acute care visits as needed.
  • Orders patient diagnostic procedures and prescribes medication with her/his/their scope of practice and in accordance with the regulations of the institution and New Jersey Nurse Practice Act.
  • Documents all healthcare contacts.
  • Provides ongoing patient and family education related to health status, health maintenance, disease process and treatment options.
  • Attends interdisciplinary patient care conferences.
  • Evaluates and utilizes evidence-based practice to improve nursing practice and the delivery of health care.

Minimum Education and Experience
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Master's degree in nursing required.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • Current CDS and DEA licenses for the state of New Jersey.
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association. Current ACLS from the American Heart Association.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of issues faced by high HIV-prevalence populations in New Jersey is preferred.
  • Experience in a clinical practice environment such as a Ryan White clinic, Federally Qualified Health Center, and/or other community health center is preferred.
