  We have exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant. The successful candidate will report to the Global EHS Center of Expertise Leader. The Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant, provides health care to employees, including assessing and treating a wide variety of conditions, ailments, and injuries with emphasis on work-related injury and illness. This includes diagnosis of illness and injury, case management, and establishing plans of care that promote safe return to work. Care and case management includes close collaboration with site stakeholders and community providers.

  Your Key Responsibilities:

  Clinical:

  Provide day-to-day managerial and clinical leadership of onsite occupational health clinic. Provide mentorship and management for site registered nurses, ancillary staff and contracted medical staff.

  Perform clinical care, treatment of work-related and episodic non-work-related injuries and illness.

  Participate in afterhours On-Call Health Services rotation is required.

  Perform history, physical examination, fitness for duty assessment and planning for employees who present to the onsite health clinic with complaint of injury/illness.

  Manage Early Report of Symptoms by assessment, employee interview, documentation, determination of work relationship, and follow-up action.

  Administer therapeutic treatment modalities including medications, advises employee on how to use medications. Develop follow-up plan and determine duty disposition.

  Oversee and coordinate case management for work-related injuries/illnesses and non-work-related disability, accommodations process, and family medical Leave (FMLA).

  Discriminate between normal and abnormal findings and determines when to consult or to refer the employee to panel Occupational Health providers and/or other community specialists.

  Assess employees for return-to-work, fitness for duty, and as necessary, recommend guided work restrictions.

  Partner and closely collaborate with Supervisors, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Human Resources and Legal. Coordinate and facilitate communication and resources with medical professionals both within and outside DuPont to appropriately manage medical care and costs.

  Serve as a Wellness /Health Coach and/or Advisor educating employees on various health topics and enabling employees to make healthy lifestyle choices. Implement wellness and prevention programs e.g. Influenza and vaccination programs.

  Perform work-site visits and maintain current knowledge of local workplace hazards such as ergonomic hazards, toxicity of materials, indoor air quality, heat stress etc., and relevant emergency medical care and treatments.

  Maintain appointment schedule that assures appropriate access for occupational health scheduled and walk-in patients; keep pace within appointment system during scheduled clinic time.

  Medical Surveillance/ Employee Screenings/ Employee Examinations:

  Perform medical surveillance and other physical examinations. Make approvals/clearances for completed surveillance testing and questionnaires.

  Be trained and perform medical surveillance screenings such as vision, audiograms, and pulmonary function tests utilized for medical clearance and early detection of baseline changes. Implement appropriate referrals and follow-up actions.

  Be trained and perform drug and alcohol collection and testing, ensure proper chain of custody. Work closely with the Medical Review Officer (MRO), EAP (Employee Assistance Program/Substance Abuse Representative, site HR/DER (Designated Employee Representative) and Legal related results and follow-up actions.

  Critical Incident and Public Health (e.g. EAP, pandemic response):

  Perform return to work clearance (in person or telephonic) per corporate guidelines in accordance with local public health recommendations. Assist with phone screening and ordering testing if indicated.

  Make appropriate assessments, referrals, and follow-up for employees to utilize and access the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

  Assist employees and site leadership during critical incidents.

  Provide site leadership with appropriate guidance and assistance during public health incidents/crises.

  Documentation of Practice:

  Record content of all patient encounters within the electronic medical record (EMR). Narrative charting in the S-O-A-P format when appropriate.

  Charts in a succinct, legible, accurate and timely manner.

  Charting reflects the process of care, employee progress and current employee disposition.

  Documents and updates allergies and medications.

  Accurately completes and uploads all relevant medical forms.

  Maintain electronic medical records in accordance with company policies and local and state laws.

  Occupational Health Program Management and Administrative Responsibilities:

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  Excellent articulation skills and ability to communicate complex health/medical principles and procedures in simple laymen’s language.

  Oversee onsite clinic QI/QA monitoring and annual clinic audit process.

  Knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and web-based programs, specifically electronic medical Record (EMR).

  Participate and/or facilitate site and Global Occupational Health team meetings.

  Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and other regulatory agencies, mandated regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, etc.) as well as Corporate Health Standards and Guidelines.

  Other duties as assigned including participate with work team projects, review/updating of medical standards, and policies and procedures.

  Qualifications Required:

  Requires knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of advanced practitioner duties.

  3-5 years of progressive responsibility and demonstrated clinic management and team leadership in an occupational health setting, emergency room/urgent care/ambulatory care setting.

  Strong autonomous clinical assessment skills and ability to manage medical emergencies. Able to work independent of daily physician oversight and recognize need for consultation with a physician or escalation for referral is necessary.

  Requires strong clinical skills. Must have effective diagnostic and decision-making skills.

  Must be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with employees, clinical team members, and site stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment with a diverse workforce.

  Licenses or certifications required:

  Certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner, required.

  Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Delaware & New Jersey with an active license, in good standing required.

  DEA certificate, required.

  BLS/CPR certificate, required.

  Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN-S) or similar certification.

  5 years or greater Occupational Health clinic management skills in a manufacturing setting.
