JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Population Research Institute is seeking a candidate for an Administrative Support Assistant.
The Administrative Support Assistant will be a detailed oriented and organized individual who will provide direct administrative and professional support to associates and staff. This position will perform complex tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following :
Arrange meetings, lead coordination and planning of special events, conferences, and other functions.
Administration of the Seed Grant Program.
Financial responsibilities include carrying a Penn State issued Purchasing Card, compiling necessary support documents for charges, reconciling charges in SIMBA ( System for Integrated Management, Budgeting and Accounting ), and Concur ( employee reimbursement system).
Must maintain knowledge of travel policies in order to better assist our guests for our special events. Will be responsible for making travel arrangements.
Respond to routine and moderately complex questions/issues concerning unit/University policies, processes, and procedures from internal and external contacts.
Generate, prepare, and maintain reports and spreadsheets.
Compile and organize information to develop agendas, meeting materials, and reports.
Support the planning and coordination of moderately complex projects.
May develop website content and maintain web pages.
May act as or support facilities coordinator and manage keys/key inventory.
Serve as resource to others on a variety of subjects.

Education and Experience
This position typically requires a High School Diploma or higher plus two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with the following or similar systems, preferred: SIMBA ( System for Integrated Management, Budgeting and Accounting ), Concur ( employee reimbursement system) , Microsoft Office. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.

This is a limited-term appointment for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of renewal.This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work.
