STATUS: Full-time/ Non-ExemptSALARY: $18.96/HourHOURS: M, Tu, Th, F: 8a.m.-4p.m.; Wed: 12p.m.-8p.m.
Incumbent serves as Administrative Assistant/Community Service Coordinator for the Community Corrections Department, responsible for preparing data, coordinating projects, maintaining records, and creating, implementing, and supervising programs that will achieve agencys mission.DUTIES:1. Uses principles of evidence-based practices as a guide in interactions with program participants.2. Coordinates all projects and maintains records for Community Service Program.3. Completes community service and program class intakes and makes contact with outside agencies, reviewing participants progress/attendance with agency.4. Monitors compliance of program rules and any special conditions ordered by the Court, including verifying GPS monitoring points for electronically monitored participants.5. Coordinates and maintains all records for the drug testing program.6. Enters data in accordance with the Indiana Department of Correction.7. Assists in the data entry of all offender case files, including filing reports and obtaining chronological case summaries from Courts, as assigned.8. Types and enters data on computer and copies, distributes, and files various documents.9. Answers telephone and greets office visitors, providing information and assistance, responding to inquiries, and/or directing callers to appropriate individual or department.10. Collects drug screens and maintains records.11. Collects, opens, sorts, and distributes mail to appropriate personnel and processes outgoing mail.12. Collects and reconciles daily cash collections.13. Completes scheduled mail, bank, and other delivery/pick-up of items in a department vehicle as directed.14. Assist probation officers in the duties as requested.14. Attends staff meetings, weekly.15. Performs related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :1. High school diploma or GED.2. Must model pro-social behavior at all times and in all places.3. Ability to meet all departmental hiring requirements, including passage of a drug test.4. Working knowledge of and ability to use a variety of computer software utilized by department, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.5. Working knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation, and ability to type with speed and accuracy and prepare reports.6. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other county departments, participants, outside agencies, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities, and disabilities.7. Ability to use standard office equipment including computer, copier, calculator, fax machine, copier, scanner, telephone, and vehicle.8. Ability to provide public access to, or maintain confidentiality of, department information and records according to state requirements.9. Ability to comply with all employer/department personnel policies and work rules including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct10. Ability to make simple arithmetic calculations and compute charges.11. Ability to compile, collate, or classify data.12. Ability to understand, memorize, retain, and carry out written or oral instructions and present findings in oral or written form.13. Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and with others in a team environment.14. Ability to work on several tasks at the same time and work rapidly for long periods often amidst frequent distractions and interruptions, occasionally under time pressure.15. Ability to apply knowledge of people and locations.16. Ability to occasionally work extended hours and weekends.17. Possession of a valid drivers license and demonstrated safe driving record.
