Summary This vacancy is for an Administrative Assistant (OA) position in the Philadelphia Regional Office located in Philadelphia, PA. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Administrative Assistant (OA), GS-0303-06 (FPL 06) positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience. Responsibilities Plans, organizes, directs and manages the administrative functions of the regional office. Maintains correspondence control systems; reviews correspondence for conformance with instructions, grammar and typographical errors. Prepares and processes time and attendance records and travel orders, and other forms of office activities. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Minimum Typing Requirement: To be minimally qualified for this position, applicants MUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors based on a five-minute sample. In addition, applicants must possess the specialized experience outlined below. Specialized Experience: For the GS-06, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes preparing requests for personnel actions, scheduling meeting and maintaining calendars; experience ordering office supplies, verifying receipt of goods and reconciling orders; experience providing customer service through various methods of communication to include written, oral, online and face to face; experience typing, editing documents, forms, reports, charts and correspondence; experience receiving and routing mail to appropriate staff; experience reviewing time and attendance reports, reporting discrepancies; experience making travel arrangements, preparing related travel orders, vouchers and reports; experience using computer operations, software applications, and various automated systems required to complete administrative tasks. Education cannot be substituted at this grade level. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
