Adjunct Professor - Professional Responsibility (Fall 2024)
The University of Maine School of Law is seeking an adjunct professor to teach a course that examines the major provisions of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct, common law, and statutory law that regulates lawyers’ conduct. The class will also consider the policy underpinnings for the rules, the role of a lawyer today, and ethics issues likely to be encountered by students during their careers as lawyers. The problem-based approach this course uses is designed to encourage thoughtful discussion of ethical issues in law practice.
This class is a 3-credit course that will meet 3 hours each week from September 3, 2024 – December 6, 2024.
Part time faculty members are paid on a credit hour basis based on prior college teaching experience. In addition, Maine Law employees have access to the library, Cigna Employee Assistance Plan, and fitness center(s) with their Maine Law ID.

Applicants must have a JD degree, a strong academic record, at least three (3) years of legal experience, and excellent writing skills.
