  University College seeks instructors to join our teaching pool who willadvance our commitment to inclusive excellence and will align with UniversityColleges core values: honor the individual, champion learning, transformlives, work together, and pursue excellence. We also value transparency.The interview process for this role will include an application process,discussion of our teaching expectations and diverse perspective, and anoverview of the instructor journey.

  Once an instructor is recruited and hired into the pool, they can expect acomprehensive onboarding process and ongoing professional developmentopportunities to enhance teaching practice. A teaching preference survey isdistributed bi-annually to determine interest and availability, andinvitations to teach are sent bi-annually. Our 10-week courses are offered inmultiple formats, including asynchronous online, synchronous online, orhybrid (50% on campus and 50% online). University College usesCanvas, a best-in-class learning management system (LMS) for all coursedelivery modes. Instructors will receive a designed course container and willbe expected to manage and engage in the course while infusing real-worldexamples into the curriculum and offering a diversity of perspectives aspresented through materials, resources, authors/readings, and speakersif applicable. Course enrollment is typically capped at 20 learners per course

  Position Summary

  We are currently seeking adjunct faculty with industry experience in supplychain management who can facilitate the learning experience of adult learnersin its career-focused M.S. in Supply Chain Management program. The SupplyChain Management program is offered jointly between University College'sTransportation and Supply Chain Institute and the Daniels College of Businessand is administered through University College. Extensive professional andacademic knowledge of supply chain management at an executive or manageriallevel, and significant experience in mentoring business professionals andbusiness analytics is strongly recommended.   Essential Functions

  Adjunct faculty at University College are subject matter experts in theirfield and integrate professionally relevant, diverse examples into theirteaching and discussions. They adhere to University College TeachingExpectations and meet the following expectations:

  Prepare Course Container for the Quarter

  Use ticketing system to provide course updates, including changes tosyllabus, policies, and contentBecome familiar with ed-tech tools embedded into the course, includingZoom videoconferencing, PowerPoint presentation software, Kaltura foraudio recording and screen capture, and Turnitin plagiarism softwareProvide Subject Matter Expertise

  Deliver an exceptional student learning experience by instructing,guiding, and providing feedback to learners

  Make clear to students how content is professionally applicableFoster and model critical thinking through course contentMaintain Regular and Consistent Instructor Presence in Your Course

  Integrate instructor-generated weekly videos

  Employ University College-supported ed-tech toolsConsistently and equitably support and communicate with each studentEmploy highly engaged discussion facilitationIn online classes, engage in discussion boards with substantive commentsno fewer than three days per weekProvide Specific, Relevant, and Timely Feedback

  Provide feedback on student work within seven days of submission

  Use grading rubrics for all assignmentsProvide specific grading comments that foster growth, improvement, andlearningFoster an Engaged and Inclusive Learning Environment

  Foster an environment in which students feel comfortable sharing theirideas, thoughts, and questions

  Facilitate active discussions that embrace a diversity of perspectivesEnsure that you and your students engage in professional and appropriate
