  If you are an Engineering Student looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! This role is an exciting opportunity to support the HVACR Americas business. Based in our Sidney, Ohio location, you will create FDM Thermoplastic and BMD metal 3D printed parts for product R&D and tooling for manufacturing operations. You will contribute to all aspects of the process including preparing files in advanced software, processing builds, operating machines, maintaining machines, and validation of printed parts with 3D scanning and software. You will work closely with internal customers to identify requirements and develop a processing plan. You will provide first-hand feedback on part design and contribute to redesign of 3D Models to take advantage of Additive Manufacturing capabilities. You will document best practices for part design and machine operations.

  AS AN ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING CO-OP, YOU WILL:

  Optimize CAD Model Designs For 3D Printing Using Advanced Software (NX CAD and CAE)

  Program 3D CAD Models For FDM Thermoplastic and BMD Metal Machines Using Specialized Software

  Process 3D Printing Jobs

  Perform Basic 3D Printer Machine Maintenance and Repairs

  Perform Post Process Finishing Of 3D Printed Parts

  Perform Material Changeovers On 3D Printers

  Support Product Design Engineers With Design For Additive

  Perform 3D Scanning On 3D Prints And Compare To Theoretical Model For Validation And Optimization

  Define, Develop, Optimize, And Document Process Development Processes And Machine Parameter

  REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Additive Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related degree

  Ability to work 40 hours a week during the scheduled semester

  Has a passion for Additive Manufacturing Including Hands-On Operation

  3D CAD Modeling Software Experience (Siemens NX preferred)

  Mechanical Aptitude

  Above Average Communication Skills

  Multitasking Skills

  Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be available

  PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Additive Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering

  Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher

  Sophomore or higher class status

  Additive Manufacturing Machine Operation Experience

  CAE Software Experience for Additive Manufacturing Optimization

  Hands-On 3D Scanning and Quality Software Experience (Polyworks)

  Reliable transportation- Sidney has multiple locations and recommend own transportation for commuting
