  As the Actuarial Product Consultant, you will join an elite team committed to changing health care through outstanding service and valuable products. The role requires an ability to communicate effectively well with a variety of levels of healthcare organization technical and non-technical staff, and an ability to develop solid client relationships through credible product knowledge. You’ll provide actuarial direction and strategy that strikes a balance between growth and profitability goals. Join us.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Take ownership of client deliverables across all areas of the business including operations and product management

  Support the RFI, RFP and sales process including onboarding of new clients

  Liaise with our internal stakeholders (senior leadership, legal, privacy teams, sales teams) to help obtain appropriate approvals and drive critical decision-making

  Execute creative problem solving and critical thinking on the job

  Perform health care and / or health policy focused quantitative and qualitative research and analysis to review data and achieve measurable outcomes for clients

  Maintain a high degree of accuracy along with attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, and the ability to always meet deadlines

  Take accountability for work within a fast paced, exciting environment and learn from challenges as they arise

  Collaborate and communicate effectively with our broader product teams, while supporting ad-hoc analytics where needed

  Required Qualifications:

  3+ years working in a consultancy, actuarial or healthcare field

  Candidates must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed a minimum of 3 or more actuarial exams

  Customer facing experience with high-level executives.

  Expertise working with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs in MS Excel

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation

  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal forms of communication

  Proven track record of working closely with multiple stakeholders to deliver excellent client experience

  Proven flexibility to handle changing priorities/requirements/deadlines

  Demonstrated ability to work proactively and collaboratively on all assignments with various teams both internal and external to Optum

  Demonstrated eager to learn about and work on a variety of different projects/assignments

  Proven problem-solving skills (identification of issue, causes, solution, implementation plan)

  California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California/Colorado/Connecticut/Hawaii/Nevada/New Jersey/New York/Rhode Island/Washington residents is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
