OverviewThe Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) Outreach Grant is hiring six positions for ACP Outreach Assistants to join their team. ACP seeks to reduce digital access disparities by providing qualifying households with a discounted rate for internet access. The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more. The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.
This position is funded by a temporary two-year contract. The ideal candidate will take part in a variety of outreach activities related to the Affordable Connectivity Program including booths at community events and personal outreach. In Duchesne, Uintah and Daggett Counties, the ACP Outreach Assistants will work up to 20 hours per week through August through October 2023 and three months in 2024.
Responsibilities
Lead the outreach for community awareness and community member enrollment into the Affordable Connectivity Program under the direction of Extension supervisors.Provide direct help with enrollment which will consist of one-on-one in-person, over the phone, or online appointments to help persons complete their ACP enrollment.Answer general questions regarding the program.Assist clients with general application questions.Partner with local community organization to assist with ACP awareness activities by working closely with organizations that often provide services to low-income households.Host or participate in outreach events.Utilize door-to-door outreach twice weekly (with a partner, never alone).Report out-reach performed and follow-up.Assist in project management such as data collection.Keep program records as requiredOther duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
