The Accounts Receivable Specialist works in the Accounts Receivable Department by performing assigned duties and functions within the department and supporting plant finances under the direction of Director of Accounts Receivable. Must be knowledgeable of generally accepted accounting principles. Familiarity with financial, accounting, and bookkeeping software, spreadsheets, forecasting. Detail oriented; prepare and maintain spreadsheets and reports accurately. Candidates should have effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of associates and business partners. Must continuously demonstrate a positive, respectful, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities
Serves as team member to support Director of Accounts Receivable and can meet the below expectations:
Prepares, posts, verifies, copies, files, and retrieves materials and records transactions related to assigned accounting area.
Maintains and updates files, including name or address changes, business status, mergers, or mailing attentions.
Enters data into accounting system; verifies that information is entered correctly.
Consults with Director of Accounts Receivable on fiscal administration and accounting area procedures.
Has knowledge of reports or statements for financial institutes, insurance companies, or government agencies. Has knowledge of bad debt, processing journal entries, working with brokers and addressing brokerage fees.
Reconciles customer accounts on a periodic basis and prepares department reports outlining any updates. Reviews and Provides A/R agings daily or as needed.
Receives, processes and reconciles statements or relevant accounts each month.
