Accounting Clerk needed in McCook, Illinois
Temporary to Hire Job Opportunity
This role is 100% on-site
Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
Pay Rate: $24/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable experience is required for this role
Prepares daily bank check deposits and fills out deposit sheet.
Enters finalized cash receipts and updates accounts receivable ledger by customer.
Compares total on cash receivables with the amount of bank lock box deposit to verify balances.
Obtains and faxed invoice copies for customers, as requested.
Process daily credit card deposits.
Files check copies and bank receipts daily by customer.
Research problems on accounts & finds resolutions
Researches and processes charge backs, returns and bad checks.
Answers account receivable phone inquiries.
Follows up on customer accounts past due over 30 days.
Calls and / or faxes correspondence to customers as necessary in order to update accounts.
Issues itemized statement to customer.
Assists with related special projects, as required.
Other additional administrative and A/R responsibilities as needed.
Prepares voucher package of invoice, receiver and purchase order
Checks quantities, unit price, taxes and obtains necessary approvals when needed
Prepares debit memos for pricing errors and incorrectly charges taxes
Vouchers freight bills with supporting documentation
Answers all Vendor questions
Prepares accounts payable checks
Prints inventory sheets regard on hand quantities and usage for supporting checks
Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files
Maintains W-9 forms for active vendors
Assists in monthly closings
Calculates and records use tax on invoices
