Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the retail industry, based in Herndon, Virginia. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity, where you will be responsible for handling and processing customer applications, maintaining precise customer records, and addressing customer inquiries. Your role will also involve monitoring customer accounts and initiating appropriate action.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process customer credit applications

• Maintain precise customer credit records

• Utilize accounting software systems like Great Plains to manage accounts payable

• Handle approximately 600 invoices per month

• Conduct three-way match for invoices

• Utilize Excel for data management, including the use of Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs

• Perform various accounting functions, including accrual accounting and auditing

• Use ADP - Financial Services and Concur for managing accounts

• Utilize ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning for business process management

• Handle Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions for electronic payments and collections. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding

• Experience with Accounting Software Systems

• Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with Concur software

• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Ability to perform Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficiency in Accrual Accounting

• Auditing skills

• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions

• Retail industry experience preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
