Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining positive vendor relationships. Your proficiency in SAP will be essential in effectively managing our accounts payable processes.
Responsibilities:
Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
Enter invoice data into SAP system accurately and efficiently.
Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents to ensure proper billing and coding.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to vendor invoices.
Reconcile vendor statements and work to resolve any outstanding balances.
Process employee expense reports in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and receiving, to ensure seamless invoice processing.
Prepare and process electronic payments, including checks and ACH transfers.
Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations.
Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records for auditing and reporting purposes.
Provide excellent customer service to vendors by responding to inquiries and resolving payment-related matters.
Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices related to accounts payable
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Proven experience (5 years) as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role.
Proficiency in using SAP for accounts payable processes is required.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently research and resolve issues.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of relevant tax regulations and compliance is a plus.
