Description
A client of ours in the property management industry is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist on a contract to hire basis. This position is in-office from Monday through Friday 8-5. The Accounts Payable is responsible for all aspects of assigned properties for commercial property accounting, preparing, and analyzing monthly and quarterly financial reports. Experience in the property management industry and QuickBooks are required to be considered for this role. Please apply today for consideration!
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior payment.
· Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted practices.
· Administrative duties as needed by the Vice President of Accounting
· Audit and process credit card billing and expense reports.
· Process intercompany billing payables and deposit into necessary accounts.
· Responsible for 1099 maintenance to provide accurate year-end-reporting.
· Assist Property Managers with invoice research as needed.
· Prepare in coordination with the Vice President of Accounting all weekly check runs.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Solid understanding of accounting processes.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and related products.
· Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in accounting.
· 3-5 years of commercial property management accounting experience required.
· Must be deadline focused, organized, and exhibit problem-solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Strong analytical and organizational skills.
· Interact effectively as part of a team.
· Handle a dynamic work environment with competing priorities.
· Build positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.
· Exercise sound judgment when making decisions.
· Able to meet deadlines as necessary.
· Good problem solver/creative thinker.
· “Can-do” attitude, pro-active and resourceful.
· Experience with MRI, Yardi, Timeberline and Avid Vendor pay, or other real estate accounting software is a plus.
