Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the manufacturing industry, based in LANSING, Michigan. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be vital in maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounts payable functions. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and file purchase orders.

• Effectively match invoices with corresponding purchase orders.

• Prepare and code invoices for payments in an organized manner.

• Maintain accurate records of customer credit applications.

• Resolve customer inquiries efficiently and professionally.

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions when required.

• Assist in the month-end close process of the accounts payable module.

• Participate in balancing to the general ledger, running month-end reports, and assisting the General Accountant as necessary.

• Regularly update and maintain monthly recurring invoice spreadsheet.

• Assist others on the Accounts Payable team as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures

• Experience in the manufacturing industry

• Familiarity with common accounting software

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Good understanding of general ledger systems and procedures

• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred.
