Description

The Accounts Payable Accountant will be responsible for managing high-volume accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. The ideal candidate will have experience with ERP systems, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.

Key Responsibilities:

Invoice Processing: Handle high-volume invoice processing, including matching, batching, and coding invoices in the ERP system.

Vendor Management: Maintain and update vendor records, respond to vendor inquiries, and resolve any payment discrepancies.

Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger and reconcile vendor statements.

Accruals: Prepare and process monthly accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable, accruals, and other financial transactions.

Payment Processing: Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices through various payment methods, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.

Month-End Close: Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (not required but preferred).

3+ years of experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role.

Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is required.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle high volumes of transactions.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
