Aston Carter is working with a great client in the Westlake, OH area who is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to join their team!

　　Description:

　　As an integral part of the Corporate Accounting department, the Accounting Supervisor will help ensure that corporate financial accounting processes and procedures are in compliance with GAAP. Duties will involve a variety of corporate accounting functions related to the monthly closing process, compliance with internal controls over financial reporting, and analysis of financial results and balances to assist management in improving operations and profitability. With a growing business and continued focus on the need for the corporate accounting department to keep pace with rapidly changing business processes and regulatory environment, they are searching for an individual who will continue to apply the skills learned in their previous experience and assist management with enhancing daily operations.

　　The ideal individual is a self-starter with a solid base of knowledge and experience with technical accounting matters and internal control processes who can demonstrate the ability to grow professionally, has a strong work ethic and is eager to learn.

　　Skills:

　　Accounting, General ledger, GAAP, Financial reporting, CPA, SAP, Masters, Big 4 experience

　　Additional Skills & Qualifications:

　　• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures, including with respect to internal controls over financial reporting

　　• Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and revenue and expense analysis, and perform other assigned month-end closing duties

　　• Prepare journal entries, including monthly accruals, site allocations, et cetera

　　• Act as process owner for assigned business processes

　　• Work closely with operations department personnel to properly account for and analyze significant activities and transactions related to sales, costs, operating expenses, inventories, receivables and accruals

　　• Assist in managing the General Accountants and General Accounting Seniors with their day to day responsibilities

　　• Provide accounting detail and assistance to internal/external auditors (financial and tax).

　　• Design/maintain Excel spreadsheets related to various business processes

　　• Participate as an individual, or on a team basis, on special projects of various lengths and subject matter while fulfilling regular duties
