POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Senior Manager is primarily responsible for completing complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger for the GPO including journal entries and reconciliations. This position will lead a team of approximately 4 individuals as well as work with other departments to research and resolve issues. Other duties include performing in depth financial analysis, leading critical projects by weighing in on key requirements, supporting year end audit and managing other adhoc assignments.
This position will be responsible for presenting to various key business partners and senior leadership as well as preparing variance analysis and meeting materials. This individual will also be working closely with their leader to support companywide rebate initiatives and other projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support key Enterprise initiatives and projects
Lead monthly close meetings with key business partners to gain alignment
Evaluate areas for process improvements and provide leadership with recommendations
Journal entries and month end responsibilities.
Review and analyze monthly financial accruals for receivables and payables
Roll forwards and reconciliations for Manufacturer Receivables, Payables and other assigned balance sheet accounts.
Key contact for SOX compliance and external/internal audit processes
In depth internal rebate system knowledge to support key projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience
Prior experience leading a team strongly preferred
5+ years of accounting and/or finance
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Demonstrated proficiency in accounting processes, procedures, and controls
Experience in general ledger account analysis/reconciliation
Self-starter, detail oriented and strong leader
Experience working with cross functional departments to research and resolve issues
PC skills, Microsoft Office programs, Strong Excel skills with the ability to easily learn new software
Good problem solving and analytical skills
Strong understanding of business operations and processes
Demonstrate initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to balance high-priority, long-term projects with short-term, immediate deadlines and ability to multi-task
Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate departmental and project deadlines
