　　The Accounting Manager is an action-oriented numbers aficionado andpeople leader who will plan and direct the accounting activities of thedepartment. They will supervise and participate in accounting departmenttasks, while providing consistent, excellent client service in allinteractions with employees, clients, and insurance carriers whenworking through any escalated issues or challenges. Additionally, theAccounting Manager will assist the Regional Controller in theimplementation of new accounting procedures and processes and ensure thedepartment operates efficiently. By spearheading innovative practicesand standards, the Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in minimizingfinancial risks to the organization, which ultimately leads tomaximizing the health of the overall company.

　　BUILD AN EFFECTIVE TEAM

　　Regularly monitors the operational effectiveness of all staff andassists them with their jobs, as necessaryTrains new hires in their respective duties and effectively managesworkload and workflows for the teamAdministers performance reviews for accounting staffAdvises the Regional Controller of the development of key financialissues and makes recommendationsMaintains a current working knowledge of the company\'s agencymanagement systemAssists with the planning and organizing of new policies, methods,and procedureAttends user group meetings to stay abreast of developmentspertaining to the agency management system and communicatesprocedural changes and other important information to the teamPRODUCTION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

　　Maintains general ledger; adds new codes as requiredPerforms monthly allocations related to financial statementpreparationPrograms and runs custom report builders as requestedProvides special analyses as requestedAssists with audits as neededApproves EFT payments, Positive Pay and other tasks on the bank webportalApproves check logSigns and prints checksManages payment processing for TPA, ACT, RMA, WIN, GIN and LAAAssigns new carriers to appropriate team membersCompletes ACH request forms as neededREQUIRED

　　Bachelor\'s Degree with major or concentration in Accounting orFinanceMinimum 7-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in theinsurance industryMinimum 3-5 years of management experience, preferable an A/R or A/PteamIntermediate to Advanced proficiency with MS ExcelStrong attention to detail with excellent organizational and timemanagement skillsAbility to research/resolve issues independentlyAbility to effectively multi-task and handle interruptions inworkflowPREFERRED
