This is an exciting opportunity to be part pf a rapidly growing subsidiary of Amazon. We are seeking driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities – a self-starter who can work independently but who is also a good team-player. This role will receive direction from the Controller and other peers but will need to be able to pick things up quickly and be able to meet deadlines with multiple tasks.
Key job responsibilities
Own revenue cycle end-to-end, ensuring revenue is recorded accurately and timely
Lead the month-end close process for all revenue-related processes and tasks
Research accounting standards and suggest the best practices and applications in accordance with accounting standards.
Draft the corresponding required accounting memos/whitepaper to document conclusions
Review new offerings/contracts to determine revenue requirements and build the processes to ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards and policies
Perform and report fluctuation analysis of revenue and accounts receivable related accounts that tells the “story” of the business
Build and maintain relationships with legal, sales, FP&A, IT and etc.
Identify and develop best practices and process improvements
Provide internal management reports and support ad-hoc projects, as necessary

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Experience performing ad hoc analysis using advanced Excel
5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
4+ years of revenue accounting experience
In depth knowledge of applying software revenue accounting guidelines - ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers
Experience driving revenue recognition and scaling accounting processes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in SaaS revenue accounting position is a plus
Experience in public accounting

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
