Accounting Manager who will oversee the day-to day accounting operations, which includes Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger Activities/Financial Close process and Expense Report Management. In this role, you will also manage financial activities such as, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. As the Accounting Manager, you will ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations while driving efficiency and process improvement within the accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Guides Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable personnel in daily tasks.Ensures that all major operational tasks, and month-end and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time in accordance with the guidelines set forth in our Internal Control procedures.Analyzes financial data and creates reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties, such as vendors or lenders.Maintains accurate and complete financial records, participates in audits, locally and internationally, review journal entries, perform account reconciliations and monitor the chart of accounts.Supports the organization to optimize their operations, control expenses, and make well-informed strategic decisions that contribute to the achievement of business objectives. Manages the tax compliance/nexus initiatives including but not limited to Sales Tax, Income Tax or Franchise Tax.Conducts periodic cycle counts, as well as semi-annual/physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and valuations to ensure the accuracy of the perpetual inventory system and reports results to Senior management.Supports the development of budgets, financial forecasts and variance analysis.Identifies opportunities for process improvement and automation within the accounting function.Supports special projects as required.Responsible for conforming with the companys quality management system requirements, as well as contributing to its overall effectiveness, and the ultimate goals of customer satisfaction, product compliance and ethical practices/behavior.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Personnel needs identification, hiring & termination recommendations, leadership, coaching/training, performance management, task assignment, policy dissemination, disciplinary action/documentation to personnel files, job description updates, etc.Establishes department goals, plan & achieve department activities & objectives, analyze variances-initiate corrective actions, problem resolution, propose/support/implement new & improved approaches/methods, etc.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance5+ years of accounting operations experience within the manufacturing sector.Advanced knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).2+ years of supervisory experience that includes providing clear direction, goals, and delegation to team members.
