  This is a remote, work-from-home position, and all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply in the continental U.S., with the exception of candidates from Colorado, California, Washington, and New York.

  POSITION SUMMARY

  The Accounting Manager analyzes, classifies, and reviews both routine and complex accounting transactions and identifies solutions in accordance with GAAP. This position interprets accounting results and advises management with respect to those results, interacting regularly with cross-functional teams.

  ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  Prepares, reviews, and records a variety of routine and complex accounting transactions, journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting in accordance with GAAP.

  Oversees of all aspects of inventory and accounts payable.

  Assists with various monthly activities, including prepaids, deferred revenue, accruals, and other areas, as required.

  Prepares and reviews various financial schedules, including working capital schedules, daily and weekly cash flow projections, balance sheets and monthly financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.

  Manages processes associated with sales/use tax, personal property tax and unclaimed property.

  Identifies accounting problems, researches solutions and identifies options for resolution. 

  Assists with developing or modifying accounting policies and ensure systems and procedures follow company policies, acceptable accounting practices and applicable regulations.

  Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of Accountants.

  Supervisory responsibilities: Manage 3-5 remote Accountants.

  Plans, directs, and coordinates accounting staff toward attainment of goals and objectives:

  Develops staff by providing guidance regarding accounting methods and processes, by identifying developmental and growth opportunities for staff members, and by ensuring appropriate training provided to staff.

  Provides coaching, communication, feedback and completes formal performance appraisals for each assigned staff member.

  Develops and maintains an environment that is optimal for employee productivity, employee engagement and job satisfaction.

  Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement.

  Open and responsive to change, including the ability to affect change within the company.

  Identifies and actively responds with sensitivity to the needs of all internal customers.

   REQUIREMENTS

  Education/Experience

  Bachelor’s degree in accounting

  CPA preferred (active or inactive)

  Minimum five years of accounting experience, or 4 years with certification or advanced degree (CPA/MA/MBA)

  Minimum three years of supervisory experience

  Skills

  Experience with NetSuite

  Solid history with detailed account reconciliations (experience with account reconciliation software is a plus)

  Experience and proficiency in applying GAAP accounting principles/theories and concepts. 

  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with efficiency and accuracy.

  Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization, as well as external resources.

  Good written and oral communication skills
