Description

We are offering a contract to permanent position as an Accounting Assistant in BIRMINGHAM, Alabama. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that will ensure the smooth operation of our financial department. This role is primarily based in the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) areas of accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the process of paper checks and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Implement and manage an automated employee expense reporting system.

• Code and scan invoices, matching checks, and tracking invoices for record-keeping purposes.

• Follow up on invoice approvals to maintain a streamlined billing process.

• Handle credit card receipt management and reconciliation.

• Utilize accounting software systems effectively to perform daily tasks.

• Leverage Microsoft Excel and other Office Suites to maintain accurate financial records.

• Monitor cash activity and report any discrepancies promptly.

• Ensure adherence to accounting functions and billing procedures.

• Use Great Plains (GPAC) software for various accounting functions.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a must.

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC) is required.

• Strong abilities in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites.

• Solid understanding of Accounting Functions is needed.

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is essential.

• Ability to manage Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial.

• Experience in Billing Functions is desirable.

• Knowledge of Cash Activity management is necessary.
