Job Summary:
This is a full-time entry level position that provides financial analysis and business operations support for Auxiliary and General Fund operations within the University of Colorado Denver and Anschutz Medical campus Facilities Management Department. Responsibility for additional funds may be included as necessary. Areas supported may include Parking and Transportation, Roads, Grounds, and miscellaneous other areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide all finance, accounting, and procurement support to Parking Operations, Roads, and Grounds. The duties include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the primary financial liaison, including support of all internal Facilities staff as well as support for external CU customers, and responsible for educating and informing the support groups on the University and departmental commonly used fiscal policies and procedures.
Parking accounting duties include but are not limited to processing monthly payroll deductions for parking for new/outgoing employees and any other changes, interacting with Standard Parking, CU Medicine, University Hospital, the University Payroll Department, and the Assistant Director of Parking and Transportation for troubleshooting deduction and payroll issues, billing, booking, adjusting and reconciling AR for various parking activities, reconciling revenue reports provided by Standard Parking to General Ledger, booking and adjusting bad debt for citations transferred to collections, creating journal entries for parking permits and other transactions, and processing checks from customers.
Creating Purchase Orders, reviewing and submitting assigned shopping carts for the support groups by properly applying the Facilities Purchasing approval procedure and using the proper procurement method based on the Procurement threshold and the nature of the goods and services being purchased.
Reviewing, confirming, and processing invoices. Closeout and release all encumbrances at the fiscal year-end and create new SPOs for the new FY. This includes monitoring SPO balances and sending quarterly updates to staff.
Process safety boots and glasses reimbursement for the applicable groups. This includes tracking reimbursements to determine if employees are eligible for reimbursement based on Department frequency protocol.
Prepare monthly Anschutz and Denver campus financial reports for Parking, Roads, and Grounds to assist monthly financial reporting to the executive team and monitor and review financial transactions in the GL.
Maintaining the inventory list of assets owned by the Facilities Management Department. Handling Fleet management and golf carts and keeping track of updates on vehicles and mileage.
Assist with the fiscal year-end process, handling unrelated business income tax entries, various AR write-offs, and adjusting entries. Other tasks assigned by management include Assisting with the Service Center Cost Study, annual auxiliary budget process, space inventory coordination and PCI Compliance.
Work Location:
Hybrid – This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days per week on campus (Aurora, CO) and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or a related field.Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least one (1) year of professional accounting experience
Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel to develop, revise, and maintain spreadsheets and databases for reporting and tracking purposes for all core activities.
Experience with University of Colorado reporting, finance, procurement, invoicing, and billing systems.
Competencies:
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The salary range for this position has been established as $54,000 - $57,000.
The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
