Position Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida. We are seeking to hire a Medical Health Care Program Analyst who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-based work environment.
This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Program Finance (MPF). MPF manages and projects Florida’s $34.5 billion Medicaid Services budget, oversees financial reporting of the Agency’s contracted Medicaid health plans, calculates both institutional and non-institutional Medicaid reimbursement rates, and disburses supplemental payments to Medicaid providers.
This position is responsible for assisting in determining budgetary requirements for Florida Medicaid. It assists in developing and conducting special fiscal studies and analyses relating to the Medicaid program and other health care issues. This position will maintain PowerPoint presentations on Medicaid expenditures and other data elements. The position assists with developing and tracking Florida Medicaid budget and expenditures. It assists with determining the fiscal impact of proposed policy and/or legislative changes. It assists with assessing changes and making recommendations regarding factors which have significant impact on Medicaid expenditures. This position assists the budget liaison with tracking salary rate and budget changes, drafting and/or reviewing budget amendments, and monthly reconciliations of the Medicaid budget.
This position will maintain up-to-date knowledge of policy and procedures with purchasing in My Florida Market Place/Ariba on Demand.
This position will start at the base rate of $1,855.91 biweekly/non-negotiable.
This position is not a remote or telework position; it will have to report to a Field Office or the Headquarters in Tallahassee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
One year of professional or educational experience related to budgeting, accounting, and/or financial analysis.
One year of professional experience using Microsoft Excel.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a degree focused to the field such as accounting, finance or mathematics being highly preferred.
