The Quality Assurance Chemist maintains concentrate, sugar, and other ingredient materials, as required. The Quality Assurance Chemist also maintains blending and product transfer equipment sanitation to ensure conformance to quality and sanitation standards.Duties & ResponsibilitiesExecutes the delivery of batch beverage blends, coordinates the set-up of flavors for production runs, and conducts qualitative and quantitative testing of beverage samples and finished goods throughout the entire production processMaintains blending equipment (mixes and syrup tanks) sanitation requirements to ensure system-wide conformance to quality and sanitation standards and maintains the highest possible housekeeping standards to prevent microbial contaminationsPerform administrative tasks such as daily shift reports, concentrate usage, and inventory, quality testing results, and receiving raw materials in SAPMaintains and calibrates lab equipment to ensure measurement accuracyConducts quality inspection and quality audits, isolates product that does not meet standards, and troubleshoots basic problems related to test results and product flowServes as a lead for the quality department and operates, tests, and troubleshoots an entire shift independentlyKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities1 to 3 years prior production, manufacturing experience OR 2+ yearsrelevant lab technician experienceAbility to follow work instructions and adhere to standard operating proceduresUnderstanding of a laboratory environment and laboratory practices preferredFamiliarity with lab safety and handling of hazardous materialsBasic math, analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated attention to detail and accuracyFamiliar with High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) Technology Ability to multitaskAbility to read, write, and keep recordsGood computer skills including literacy with Excel and WordAbility to work in a fast-paced Food Manufacturing environment with seasonal temperatures, flexible shifts, and weekend and holiday work based on business needsAbility to stand for extended periods of time, walk manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25lbs.Minimum Qualifications2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical schoolKnowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of work experiencePreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in science or related field highly preferred2+ yearsrelevant lab technician experienceWork EnvironmentNoisy, wet, and extreme temperature environmentCoca-Cola Consolidated, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
