Process Technician – Elk Grove Village, IL
Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, is currently seeking a Process Technician for a long-term work engagement at one of our largest clients, in Elk Grove Village, IL . The Quality Lab Technician is a full-time, fully benefitted position, eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K, paid time off, including holiday, vacation and sick/personal time.
Pay: $25.50/hr on long-term contract (also includes benefits).
Shift : 2nd shift: 2:00pm - 10:30pm
Duration : Ongoing contract role with no end date
Job Summary:
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform routine quality control testing in an accurate and timely manner.
Accurately/neatly record all lab results in accordance with departmental procedures, including communication of results, problems, and priorities to Production and other affected parties.
Maintain equipment and instruments in proper working order through conformance to acceptable maintenance, operating and calibration procedures and escalates problems as appropriate.
Assist troubleshooting quality and plant process problems using root cause investigations, analytical testing, etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
Hand truck and fork truck operation to support raw material movements and finishing operations
Material staging for production or shipping
Move material within a warehouse and production environment in a safe, accurate and in a timely manner.
Operate Forklift, Drexel, scrubber/sweeper drive in and walk behind equipment.
Perform floor building clean ups by using scrubber/sweeper equipment per the cleaning schedule.
Assist in drumming/repack/pailing of materials (raw materials, intermediates, or finished goods) into different size and types of packaging.
Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma, equivalent, plus laboratory, manufacturing or other related experience is desired.
Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
Must be able to calculate various measurements using basic math skills.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to manually lift and handle a weight of 25kgs (55lbs).
Must be able to tolerate periodic hot, inside working conditions or cold outside conditions
Have no known sensitivity or history of skin or respiratory allergies to dust, dirt, or chemicals to which there may be workplace exposure if an allergic reaction could create a safety or health hazard.
Must be able to operate forklifts both manual, pallet jacks, and sit-down riders.
Must be able to wear required protective clothing & equipment.
Required to stand up to 90% of working day with frequent walking, intermittent stopping and bending while operating equipment, drumming, climb stairs and ladders
